Mrs. Vivian Irene Duncan - Age 69, passed away Thursday, January 28, 2016 at Vibra Hospital - Lincoln Park, MI. Funeral service 9:30 a.m. Friday, February 5, 2016 at Greater Emmanuel Institutional C.O.G.I.C., 19190 Schaefer Hwy., Detroit, MI 48235. Bishop J. Drew Sheard officiating. Interment River Rest Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 9:30 a.m. Friday. Mrs. Duncan will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12 p.m. - 8 p.m. Thursday.
Mrs. Vivian Irene (Turner) Duncan was born on December 26, 1946 in Cairo, Illinois, the daughter of Fred Turner, Jr. and Irene Curb. Vivian joined with the baptist faith at age 12. She graduated from high school in 1964 and college in 1968; she became a Teacher and taught for Whittier, Jr. High, Central High, Northwestern High and the Schools of Choice. Vivian was united in Holy Matrimony to Palmer Duncan on April 18, 1987. She had a gift and passion for cooking. Vivian knew the Lord; she was saved and Holy Ghost filled. Mrs. Duncan loved traveling the world and attending church.

Cabine; special aunt, Willa Bone; mother-in-law, Virgella Duncan; sister-in-law, Maggie Evans of Childersburg, AL; brothers-in-law, Walter Duncan, Leonard Duncan, and Elonzo Duncan; a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, many relatives and friends including special friend, Rita Coleman.
Mrs. Duncan was preceded in death by her husband, Palmer L. Duncan; father, Fred Turner, Jr.; step-father, James Curb; paternal grandfather, Fred Turner, Sr.; maternal grandmother, Viola Turner; grandparents, Dick and Lorene Miller; sister, Gerilyn Turner; twin brothers, Eddie Lee and Freddie Lee Turner; and father-in-law, Alonzo Duncan.
